Wood Fired Herping is a podcast from Zeev Nitzan Ginsburg, Ani Khajadourian, and other contributors, talking about the great adventure of herping, all centered around a perfect, restaurant quality meal; cooked entirely over a wood burning fire.
When out in the field, the highlight (apart from our finds), is always a professionally cooked meal at the end of the day.

Episodes cover a day in the field, discussing the thrill and excitement of being out in nature, chasing down the coolest creatures, in the coolest habitats. Then, we wrap up the day’s finds and misses, while cooking a delicious, restaurant quality meal with limited resources, all over a wood fire.

Zeev Nitzan Ginsburg is a field herpetologist, wildlife photographer and chef, who has spent years cooking at the top of the Los Angeles restaurant world. From catering the Oscars with Wolfgang Puck, working in the top fine-dining kitchens, to being on the opening team of LA’s hottest Vegan restaurant and running a meal delivery service during the pandemic, Zeev has had experience throughout the industry.

In the fleeting time off from cooking, Zeev takes any chance he gets to be out in nature, chasing down and photographing all manner of incredible creatures. He started herping in India at the age of 6, where over the years he was involved in both the field and professional herpetology settings and has since herped on three continents and more environments that one can count.

Ani is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. Ani has worked with different bands creating and performing across LA. She also has designed film score compositions for film shorts and commercials. Along with music Ani has a passion for writing and is currently the Senior Editor for MXDWN.

Ani joins Zeev on Woodfired Herping. While Zeev is the chef, Ani is his helper in the many recipes made during their trips out in the field. Ani brings listeners along as she designs and builds her off-roading Jeep, as well as topics like music and lifestyle. All music heard through the podcast is created by Ani and Zeev.
